Partner with MSP Mesh

MSP Mesh is a decentralized, all-volunteer community organization focusing on the educational and community aspects of radio networking for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Started in May 2024, MSPMesh has developed partnerships with businesses and municipalities to help further our goal of providing a subscription-free, no-license-needed, grid-independent digital communication system that can be used any time, from emergency situations or even for everyday communicating with family and friends.

We are always looking for locations to place our solar powered radio “Nodes” to help service more of the Twin Cities metro (and beyond). If you have a building rooftop, radio tower, or other tall structure on which you are able to donate a tiny amount of space for our ultra-low-impact hardware, reach out to us and we will be happy to talk with you and check it out!

Our radio devices:

• Do not require any sort of hole in the roof or cabling in or out of  the building.
• Use solar power (no power needed from a building, etc)
• Use no internet, cell towers, etc (no data cabling needed)
• Transmit and receive on a public license-free radio frequency (902-928mhz, the same that old cordless phones used)
• Will not interfere with other radio/networking devices that are already installed
• Are very small (typically about the size of an iPad or a children’s shoe box)
• Generally don’t need any sort of existing mounting point (can be mounted in many safe, secure, and still 100% removable) ways
• Typically require maintenance once or twice a year, and usually can be done remotely.

What can MSP Mesh do for you?

• Our volunteers are always willing to educate people of all ages and backgrounds in radio and/or computing of many disciplines. Maybe we could help put on a seminar or informational session?
• Our volunteers are creative, handy, and may have access to tools and equipment that maybe your organization could use to help save money vs more formal consulting/services?
• If you have a radio tower, we could help you decorate it for special occasions (flags, lights, etc) or install utility/security hardware such as cameras, antennas, etc. We have insured, certified climbers.
• We will gladly supply personal nodes and help/instruction for interested members of your organization that would like to get into it!
